Mechanical Engineering

We use the depth and breadth of our experience to deliver innovative solutions for our customers. Onboard mechanical systems need to operate efficiently and reliably while meeting exacting specifications. Our mechanical engineering team understands these needs and uses its collective experience across a range of development and in-service design projects to deliver technically innovative solutions for our customers. Our team can help with design, integration, optimisation and upgrades to the following systems:

  • Propulsion
  • HVAC
  • High-pressure air
  • Hydraulics
  • Bilge fluid and fuel systems

Our mechanical engineering team has a wealth of experience in the maritime industry, conducting detailed designs, design and option assessments, installation-specification development, installation test and trials procedure development, and consulting in the selection of mechanical systems.

Electrical Engineering

Power electronics have implications for almost every aspect of marine engineering design, from generation to distribution and consumption. We have a great deal of experience across a range of high and low-voltage systems and we understand the needs that these impose on safe ship design and operation. Our qualified electrical engineers can help with:

  • Design, selection and sizing of main electrical generation and distribution systems
  • Electrical load analysis, short circuit fault and current calculations
  • Platform management systems, instrumentation, controls, communications and CCTV systems
  • Power distribution schematics
  • Automation and control

We’re a leading supplier of electrical engineering solutions to the maritime industry, including the Royal Australian Navy.

In-service Support

In-service support requires a detailed understanding of the operational environment of the platform and the technical regulatory system that facilitates its ongoing capability management. We have an extensive range of in-service support services, which include:

  • Configuration change design and management
  • Engineering assessment
  • Detailed design package development
  • Safety assessment
  • Maintenance optimisation
  • Obsolescence management
  • Independent technical investigations
  • Capability insertion
  • Ship conversions
  • Refit management
  • Service life extension
