Wilmar Myanmar Port Terminals (Thilawa) Limited intends to construct a modern multi-purpose international jetty at the Thilawa port.

Contractor Penta-Ocean Construction Co. Ltd had appointed BMT to provide professional engineering services for this project. As part of engineering services, mooring assessment for proposed jetty structure has been carried out. 

Benefits

Scope of work for the mooring analysis was as follows:

1. Setup the model for the berth;
2. Carry out the mooring analysis for the range of design vessels, using extreme environmental site condition based on metocean data provided by the client;
3. Determine the mooring loads on fenders and bollards, vessel excursions and the mooring line tensions. Provide information for bollard design;
4. Based on the results of the analysis, propose a mooring arrangement for design vessels and suggest any critical areas which might need attention or modification.
