Over 2,000 MATE inspections and going strong

We have reached an important milestone with MATE. As of today, our cloud-based tool called MATE has been used for more than 2,000 surveys. MATE captures and tracks any and all aspects of a vessel’s condition, following a pre-defined and often tailor made inspection format, and can visualise its development over time.

In 2020 we reached a significant milestone with MATE: Our cloud-based tool has been used for more than 2,000 surveys.

MATE captures and tracks all aspects of a vessel’s condition, following a pre-defined and often tailor-made inspection format, and can visualise its development over time.

We performed the first MATE inspection back in 2016, and the tool has been successfully used for monitoring vessel conditions ever since. We are indeed very proud of its achievements and would like to thank everyone for all their work to make this possible.

MATE is a market-driven tool that we can easily customise to meet a client’s specific needs. When a survey is carried out within BMT’s Global Surveyor Network, including over 300 surveyors in over 500 locations, data is compiled in MATE, showing transparency and highlighting risk areas. In addition, we would like to mention some significant factors that have played a considerable role in its success.

Especially in a year like 2020, with all of the circumstances and limitations surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, MATE has proven itself an essential tool. A MATE inspection can be performed worldwide and quickly provide vital information needed for safe shipping.
