We are in the final! We are very proud to announce that BMT has been chosen by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) as a finalist for their 2019 Innovation Awards. From more than 360 entries, BMT was nominated for the Transport award in recognition of our Boat Stopping Device.
The patented device is a deployable barrier that can stop a boat or fast surface craft without damaging it. A team from BMT together with 4c Design worked on the design, production and testing of the concept in 2013 as a result of an internal design challenge.
The Awards celebrate the most pioneering engineering and technology innovations across 15 sectors, from energy and sustainability to transport and healthcare. We will join other finalists in London on 13 November, at a prestigious awards dinner and ceremony. Host for the evening, journalist, presenter and comedian, Alex Brooker, will announce the winners.
Please wish us luck for the final! In the meantime, you can see the full shortlist for all the awards at IET Innovation Awards 2019.
