BMT provides safety support for Ministry of Defence
BMT Isis, a subsidiary of BMT Group, the international engineering, maritime and risk management consultancy, has announced its latest contract with the UK Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) Expeditionary Campaign Infrastructure (ECI) Team, to provide a comprehensive review of its safety processes and associated documentation.
The ECI Team is responsible for the delivery and safe use of the infrastructure required to support operational activity, including Modular Domestic Accommodation such as tented camps. In a bid to ensure safety management processes and documentation within its portfolio of projects are robust and in accordance with MOD Policy, the ECI Team has turned to BMT for independent safety support.
Nicholas Hand, Safety and Environmental Manager for the ECI Team comments: “BMT has a proven track record in land equipment safety and environmental management and as such, ECI is very much looking forward to working with BMT on this project. The relationship will see further development of our safety and environmental practices and documentation, to better serve the soldiers using our equipment, both in training and on deployment.”
Steve Golder, Leading Safety Consultant at BMT Isis explains: “As independent safety, environmental and risk management specialists, we have a strong track record in the development and review of safety cases and environmental assessments in air, land and sea, both at platform and equipment level. We’re delighted to be working with the ECI Team, helping them to deliver safety governance and assurance for key operational support systems and equipment.”
