What is the role?
Our Missions Systems department are currently recruiting for Combat Systems Engineers to join our experienced team. The team use their experience, knowledge and skills to lead on aspects of technical projects to successfully build and maintain client relationships. The work varies hugely over the course of a year depending on the needs of our broad customer base; no two days are the same at BMT!
We are looking for people who are looking to apply their engineering knowledge to new and varied challenges from helping and advising customers with engineering projects to supporting the creation and realisation of new designs of ships. What are we looking for?
We are looking for people who are interested or experienced maritime combat system engineers. Whether your background is as an operator, maintainer, designer or if you have a relevant background in engineering or science we can offer appropriate training and career progression to support you.
Our work is broad and spread from providing acquisition support to new equipment programmes, supporting the design of new warships and submarines as well as providing in-service support services to navies around the world.
We value professional qualifications and registration with professional institutions and can provide training, experiences and support to achieve these if not held presently.
Much of our work is directly customer focused so the ability to present and articulate work clearer whilst relaying sometimes complex principles or information is important.

Our Combat System Engineers are subject matter experts on the delivery of the fighting capability of warships enabled by a ships weapons, radars, radio communications to name but a few.
