Description

BMT is seeking Client Support Engineer to support both new and existing offshore oil platform operations, with a focus on planning, monitoring, and safety. 

With guidance and support of senior staff, the CSE may be asked to do the following:
• Design support with consideration of installation and maintenance issues;
• Support QA/QC process in system assembly;
• Develop operation, maintenance, installation, and commissioning documentation;
• Lead and engage with system integration and testing activities including Factory Acceptance Testing;
• Lead the installation and commissioning of systems;
• Coordinate with technical groups within BMT to ensure that problems with existing systems are identified and corrected in a timely manner;
• Develop technical procedures, documentation, and training presentations to ensure the success of Field Electronic Technicians and Field Engineers;
• Identify work tasks and provide instruction to the Field Service group and other Engineering groups (Data, Software, Electrical, Mechanical and Drafting);
• Develop action plans for each work item that is in the intranet ticketing system;
• Complete preparation of work, such as that in the intranet ticketing system, prior to field service trips;
• Supervise technicians, field engineers and software specialists on the technical execution of service, repair, and maintenance jobs on offshore projects that the Client Support Engineer is managing;
• Assist field personnel to prepare, and review work performed, that is in the intranet ticketing system for deployment offshore;
• Ensure that QA and QC procedures are followed in all service and upgrade activities; and
• Receive requests from clients for service, repairs, and maintenance of existing systems; Raise tickets as new work items are identified.
• For facilities assigned to the Client Support Engineer:
o Perform regular quality checks in BMT Deep web portal data as needed.
o Update Deltek opportunities as part of the day-to-day operations.
o Track all stages of project activity from Opportunity to Proposal, to Contract award.
• Produce up-to-date Maintenance Strategy documentation. 
• Design and write technical aspects of field service proposals and scope of work, and provide initial man-hour and schedule estimates.
• Populate proposal data into BMT’s Bid Assessment Forms (BAF).
• Maintain Instrumentation Services (IS) documentation needed for the Field Service group.
The above is a sample of duties, and the Intermediate CSE may be asked to perform additional related duties.

The role is responsible and accountable to:
1. The Program Services Team Lead to follow BMT policies and process in the execution of their work, and to
2. The Program Management leads with ownership of projects and customers supported by the CSE for quality and timeliness of deliverables.
Required to forge effective working relationships with:
1. Geographical Heads of Technical Capability
2. Program Managers
3. Regional HSEQ Manager
4. Customers

Location & Flexibility: 
Our office is located in Houston, TX. This is a hybrid role that requires a minimum of two in-office days per week. Please note that travel to customer sites or for meetings may also be required. This is a full-time position.


Key Responsibilities

A Client Support Engineer (CSE) is responsible for the field planning, installation, commissioning, training, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, and de-mobilization of BMT Instrumentation Systems, ensuring seamless system deployment, optimal performance, and ongoing support throughout the lifecycle for aftermarket systems.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required:
·         Proven experience in writing concise and easy to read manuals .
·         Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
·         Must be willing and able to work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends). Such work may include communications (phone and email) with clients, communications (phone and email) with personnel in the field, and support of personnel in the field including analysis, providing technical direction and guidance, and coordinating onshore support from others.
·         Must actively seek customer feedback and respond to it in a positive way.
·         Must possess a good working knowledge of computerized data acquisition systems.
 
Desired:
·         Experience and knowledge of Analog & Serial communications (4-20mA, RS-232/422/485)
·         Familiarity with Office 365 – Teams, SharePoint etc.

 
Physical Requirements:
·         The employee will be required to take and successfully pass rigorous offshore survival classes as may be required by company clients.
·         Work a 40 hour work week as the norm, but be available to work 10 to 12 hours days when working in shipyards or offshore.
Must be able and willing to travel to shipyards and offshore both domestically and internationally, as may be needed, estimated to be approximately twenty percent (20%) of the time averaged over an annual time frame.

Salary Range - $95,000 - $105,000
