About The Role
As an Associate Project Professional in BMT you will be able to enjoy working in a varied project environment as you help to define and support projects where key outcomes are delivered successfully for our clients within contractual service-based relationships. You will be responsible for your contribution to a critical element of BMT’s ability to continually deliver insight, innovation and results across multiple domains.
An Associate Project Professional in BMT is required to undertake a range of supporting tasks and duties related to:
· The administration and control of multiple projects or work packages supporting a Project or Programme Manager.
· Leadership of the delivery of simple projects or work packages in a Delivery Project Manager role.
· Supporting other project-related activities throughout the bid and project delivery lifecycles, with particular attention to the management and reporting of commercial and financial aspects of the project and providing support to teams creating a bid/proposal for a client.
· Supporting the development of the Project Management Function and best practice within BMT.
· Advising and guiding other staff undertaking project delivery tasks.
About You
We are looking for people who are enthusiastic and as passionate as we are about delivering projects successfully, and who want to contribute to growing a robust project management community and capability not only within the UK, but across BMT global operations.
Ideally you will be familiar with delivering or supporting projects in an engineering service environment which is built upon managing contractual relationships and a strong financial performance perspective. This also includes the awareness of the project definition elements of bids and their relationship to subsequent project delivery. But we thrive on diverse backgrounds and experiences and learning from each other, so this is not obligatory. We want to hear from people who can recognise, understand and undertake project management supporting duties across a spectrum of predictive (plan-based) to adaptive (iterative) approaches. Whether you are familiar with the delivery of products or systems, engineering services, new capabilities, software applications, IT systems, cyber services, environmental systems, or business transformations, we would love to hear from you.
To provide operational flexibility an Associate Project Professional will be expected to operate across the different delivery domains within BMT – which could give rise to some varied challenges for you - but ideally will have some knowledge and experience in one or more specific domains where the nature of the project demands it for maximum effectiveness. More information on the range of BMT services is available at
www.bmt.org.
An Associate Project Professional in BMT will be on a personal career journey to be able to achieve, or may already hold, one or more of the following Project Management-related qualifications (or their equivalent):
· APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ),
· PMI Certificated Associate in Project Management (CAPM®),
· Agile Business Consortium/APMG AgilePM Foundation,
· Axelos PRINCE2®, P3O© Foundation
· Praxis Framework™ Foundation.
We love to develop our people, so if these are not held right now, we will help you to achieve a recognised reflection of your capabilities. We recognise that project management careers develop through a myriad of different journeys, but degree- or diploma-level qualification(s) in a project management or engineering-related discipline would be desirable. You will be self-motivated with a proactive approach to continual professional development and looking to develop yourself in the field of project management. We value professional qualifications and membership of appropriate bodies such as the APM or PMI and we can provide support, training and tailored experience for you to achieve these, if not already held, as well as paying for membership of one professional body.
Due to the nature of the work, this position will require full UK Security Clearance and you must have resided in the UK for more than 5 years. No applications will be considered if you are not able to either attain or transfer the security clearance.
