Jan Verhage studied Nautical Science in Rotterdam. He started his sea-going career as Deck Officer/Engineer on board reefer vessels, followed by working as a shipping consultant for more than 3 years.

Jan has all-round experience with claims & casualty investigations and audits of all sorts as well as with cargo related cases. He is specialised in frozen / refrigerated cargoes shipped in reefer vessels and reefer containers, with regard to the cause and extent of damage. Jan received special training to appear in London arbitration and is called regularly to do so.
