Summary (customer challenge):

Our customer is experiencing significant challenges in relation to recruiting and securing suitable, qualified, and experienced personnel.

This is likely to be of detriment to the successful implementation of their strategy and operational priorities.

Our Approach:

Our team conducted comprehensive, mixed methods research to better understand the workplace culture, and to identify potential contributory factors.

A further scoping study was undertaken to better understand and respond to the personnel challenges.  

A phased implementation plan is currently being developed.

Benefits to the customer:

Our team discovered that whilst the training provision, or lack of, was a key contributing factor, this could not be dealt with in isolation.

Other cultural, procedural and organisational issues were identified which were deemed to be negatively impacting on the department’s ability to recruit, train and retain suitable, qualified, and experienced personnel.

Our team’s research led to a series of practical evidence-based recommendations for the customer – focused around capability development - which will help to support their staffing requirements moving forward.
