BMT Scoops Digital Award for Innovative Technology after being Named Finalist in Multiple Categories at EIC National Awards 2020

BMT earned three finalist nods at this year’s Energy Industries Council (EIC) Awards for Digital, Collaboration and Rising Star – achieving national and international recognition, and exceptional client work across the Offshore Energy sector. We also celebrated outstanding achievement for work on BMT DEEP after being chosen as winner for Digital Award.

The EIC Digital Award celebrates the application of digital systems, analytics and technology to innovate the energy industry. BMT were presented the award for BMT DEEP during the virtual award ceremony held on 3 December 2020. BMT DEEP enables asset managers to make real-time, data driven decisions to maximise the value of their asset base while simultaneously helping them to reduce costs and increase efficiency across their major critical infrastructure assets.

Soma Maroju, technical lead for BMT DEEP, who also came runner up for the EIC ’s Rising Star award said this when accepting the award:

“I am honoured to accept this award on behalf of BMT, it’s a great achievement for our asset monitoring platform BMT DEEP. After years of working with our customers, who are a constant inspiration, it is great to see our efforts to support their digital transformation programmes being recognised by the EIC and their members. BMT DEEP is delivering real value to our customers, by helping them gain insight from their data and enabling them to maximise the value from their assets – with that, I’d just like to express my thanks to the judges for choosing BMT as co-winner!”

Sarah Kenny OBE, Chief Executive of BMT, commented:

“The energy sector, like many others, is rapidly evolving, digitising and transforming as it looks to adapt to the challenges of the future. BMT has a compelling blend of world-class technical specialists, along with a track record of innovating and collaborating with customers. This Digital Award from the EIC recognises the hard work of our employees in supporting our customers and highlights our approach to innovation right across our core sectors of Maritime Design, Asset Monitoring and Performance, Environmental and Climate Solutions and Defence and Security.”

Guy Tomlinson, BMT Programmes Director, added:

“We are delighted that the EIC have recognised BMT DEEP in their annual awards. In an environment of ever-increasing demands on storing, handling and managing asset data, BMT DEEP has the proven capability to help with the remote visualisation and management of key assets. The BMT team are very proud of this achievement and it reflects the passion they have for helping our customers with their most challenging needs. Their work is at the heart of what we do, helping them maintain, sustain and optimise their critical assets and is a core part of our scalable offer into the markets that we serve”

This year BMT is the sponsor for EIC’s Optimisation Award.
