Jeremy de Backere has a Masters of Industrial Science and graduated as an Industrial Engineer in Electromechanics at the University of Antwerp. Prior to joining BMT he had a career of more than 13 years as a technical superintendent for dredging and offshore vessels.

After 8 years working abroad with trailing suction hopper dredgers, he continued his career working with dynamic positioning (DP2) rock dumping-, LNG powered (DP3) cable laying- and heavy lifting jack-up vessels. Within this position he gained extensive experience with general maintenance, classification, major repairs, dockings, conversions and new build projects for seagoing vessels.

Jeremy has been working as a marine surveyor for BMT since February 2021.
