The Role

This role is critical to supporting our aim of preventing harm coming to any of our staff members or others affected by the work we do, and to actively promote a positive culture of safety, health and wellbeing

The position reports to the Operations Manager and the main responsibilities would be, but not are limited to:
Maintain existing HSEQ programs, policies, procedures and processes and systems.
Identification of system improvements.
Ensure that all compliance-based requirements are completed in a timely manner.
Maintain current HSE and Quality accreditations and certifications
Prepare, implement and maintain the company audit schedules (both internal and external audits).
Maintain our incident management system.
Promote and drive awareness of HSEQ requirements, input to bid preparation, assist with the preparation of Job Hazzard Assessments and meeting project quality requirements.
Manage HSEQ reporting.
Provide a point of contact for all personnel concerning all Quality, Safety & Environmental matters.
Support the Operations Manager with any emergency response procedures.
Facilitate relevant training and inductions.
Supporting Workers Compensation claims (partnering with HR).
Ad hoc provision of administration support to the business support team.

To be considered for the role applicants must have:
Minimum Certification at Level IV or above in a relevant HSE qualification
At least 3-5 years practical HSE and Quality experience, preferably in an engineering, mining or consultancy service environment
A strong understanding and working knowledge of quality management principles, Australian standards, international standards and codes of practice
Hold Senior First Aid and/or Fire warden certification
Willingness to travel domestically (when viable) to office and field sites on an ad hoc basis
A desire to drive HSEQ initiatives and keep up to date with contemporary HSEQ practices
Good communication and collaboration skills - the role will work alongside a number of people in the business who share a passion and responsibility for safety and quality.
