Detailed design for Abbot Point Coal Terminal

Requirements

Adani has recently broadened its international exposure in Australia through the acquisition of the Abbott Point Coal Terminal near Bowen Queensland. The acquisition of the coal port terminal along with exploration rights for Carmichael Mine in the Galilee Basin north-west of Clermont in Central Queensland have positioned Adani for rapid growth within Australia.

• A capacity of 60 million tons/annum is planned;
• The overall maritime scope of work is as follows:
• Approach jetty;
• Transfer deck;
• Proposed Wharf No. 3 and Future Wharf No. 4 (including conveyor supports);
• Dolphins and walkways.

Solutions 

• Review of basic engineering documentation;
• Establishment and preparation of the project execution plan;
• Management and execution of the detailed design and documentation;
• Coordination and management of the design team;
• Undertaking all tasks necessary to comply with RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineers of Queensland) requirements and internal QA / QC (quality assurance / quality control) processes;
• Submission of designs to the RPEQ engineer.
