BMT is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Bell as their new Senior Business Development Manager for Maritime Surveys in the UK and Europe, effective this month. The appointment will support the delivery of the company’s Marine Surveys’ business strategy and growth under Dennis de Bruin’s leadership. With over 35 years of maritime experience, including casualty response, investigation and legal work, Andrew will be instrumental in bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role.
As a Master Mariner and former Officer with the Royal Navy, Andrew has honed his analytical skills and gained invaluable experience. He spent thirteen years with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary and worked in quality and safety management for a large commercial ship manager, where he was in daily direct contact with seagoing Masters. In his previous position as a Marine Manager (Casualty Investigator) for a city law firm, Andrew gained a thorough understanding of the commercial marine insurance and legal markets. His extensive background allows him to fully understand the challenges, regulation, and technical needs of our customers in these complex industries.
Andrew will be collaborating closely with our customers, and our growing network of surveyors and strategic partners, to provide them with a comprehensive understanding of BMT's global capabilities, helping them with compliance and advice as they navigate the ever-evolving challenges of the maritime sector.
Andrew has also been a volunteer lifeboat crew member on the river Thames over the past twenty-one years.
