Developed by BMT, the Rapid Response Craft (RRC) is a high-speed, multi-role emergency response vessel designed to deliver rapid intervention, firefighting, rescue, survey, and autonomous operations from a single adaptable platform. Combining speeds of up to 40 knots with advanced casualty recovery systems, integrated survey capabilities, and optional uncrewed operation, the RRC is engineered to respond effectively in demanding maritime emergencies while prioritising crew safety and operational flexibility.
Key Features
- High-Speed Response: Maximum speed of 40 knots and service speed of 35 knots, enabling rapid deployment to emergency situations. Accommodates three crew and two passengers in shock-mounted seating for enhanced comfort and safety.
- Advanced Firefighting Capability: Twin FiFi monitors delivering 300m³/h each, supported by three independent fire pumps with a combined flow capacity exceeding 1,600m³/h. Flexible propulsion arrangements allow simultaneous manoeuvring and firefighting operations.
- Comprehensive Rescue Systems: Casualties can be recovered via floating belt recovery systems or waterline rescue platforms, with dedicated onboard medical support and casualty care facilities.
- Survey and Inspection Operations: Integrated ROV deployment capability and dedicated drone facilities provide underwater and aerial inspection capability, supported by dual operator workstations.
- Optional Uncrewed Operation: Remote operation from a shoreside or mothership control centre enables deployment into hazardous environments without placing personnel at risk. Integrated cameras, autonomous control systems, tethered communications drone, and remote casualty recovery systems support safe and effective operations.
