MOD Maritime Training Acquisition Organisation (MTAO)

BMT's RAMtr@ck gives defence customers trusted, real-time performance data - helping the UK MOD and Sweden's FMV improve efficiency, optimise training, and prove KPIs are met.

Requirements

The UK MOD’s Maritime Training Acquisition Organisation (MTAO) required an independent way to monitor the performance of its maritime training systems.

The organisation needed accurate data on utilisation, availability, and reliability to ensure value for money and alignment with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

A further challenge arose during periods of budget austerity, when the level of contracted support was reduced, but the demand for accurate, reliable reporting and stakeholder confidence remained unchanged.

Solutions

We delivered its BMT RAMtr@ck service, a scalable monitoring and reporting system.

As an independent auditor, BMT validated all operational data, ensuring accuracy and consistency before analysis.

For the MOD, BMT RAMtr@ck produced detailed availability dashboards, monthly validation reports, and in-depth analysis of performance metrics.

Despite reduced funding, we enhanced support by providing on-site visits, training to contractors, and improvements to defect reporting tools.

All of this was delivered at no additional cost.

Benefits

The MOD gained trusted, real-time visibility of training system performance, enabling corrective action and informed decision making.

BMT RAMtr@ck strengthened supply chain relationships by acting as a neutral, independent voice.

The 2019 MOD testimonial praised us for “consistently driving innovation with greater efficiencies” and maintaining customer satisfaction despite budget constraints.

Overall, BMT RAMtr@ck maximised training efficiency, ensured KPIs were demonstrably achieved, and reinforced confidence in the long-term sustainability of MOD training systems.
