BMT has secured a series of short technical support tasks to assist the Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) Space sub-theme on their space-based Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) and Space Domain Awareness (SDA) programmes. These critical programmes will enable UK Space Command to take advantage of the ever-evolving space domain to protect and advance UK interests via the deployment of key satellite assets.
BMT leads these new support tasks in our role as a partner in the Aurora Engineering Partnership, which delivers the Engineering Delivery Partner contract for DE&S on behalf of the wider UK defence enterprise.
These new tasks position BMT and our expert partners as a trusted technical adviser and customer friend in the increasingly complex space arena.
BMT’s extensive track record in providing both pan-environment engineering support and accessing space domain specific expertise was pivotal in securing this award. The team’s approach combines BMT’s expertise in systems engineering, software and cyber security to deliver multiple lines of support into DE&S Space sub-theme space-based ISR and SDA programmes
Tom Lennon, Air and Space Account Manager at BMT, commented:
“The space domain is an increasingly congested and contested environment. Supporting UK Space Command via the DE&S Space sub-theme places BMT at the forefront of some of the UK’s most advanced efforts to protect national interests, build a competitive edge in space capability and further new technology to secure strategic advantage.”
This award reinforces confidence in BMT’s ability to deliver secure and effective support through our innovative solutions to complex air, space, land and weapons challenges. We provide engineering and consultancy across the full lifecycle - from concept to sustainment and disposal - working at platform, system, and equipment levels.
As a trusted partner within the Aurora Engineering Delivery Partnership and the Equinox Project Delivery Partnership-Successor, BMT supports DE&S, Military Commands, and MOD support agencies.
