Manager Risk & Quality

Wessel brings extensive maritime and surveying experience to his role at BMT. Following a career at sea, he entered the surveying industry in 2003 as a cargo inspector, specialising in quality and quantity inspections.

Since joining BMT in 2016, Wessel has played a key role in the coordination of global ship vetting inspections and was appointed Manager of the Risk & Quality department in 2024. He leads a team of survey coordinators, manages client and stakeholder relationships, and oversees the delivery of inspection services worldwide.

Wessel has been instrumental in the development of BMT’s MATE survey application, which supports efficient, consistent reporting and trend analysis, helping clients optimise operational performance and risk management.

Wessel is based in Rotterdam.
