Ronald holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nautical Studies from the Hogeschool in Vlissingen, a Public Administration Msc from Erasmus University and is a certified first maritime officer. Ronald has fifteen years of seagoing experience on board offshore installation vessels and towing vessels with special expertise in Dynamic positioning.
After his career at sea, Ronald spent the next decade refining his skills in ship operations, marine engineering, propulsion systems, and offshore vessel management using his extensive hands on knowledge of ship hull structures, propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery and critical safety equipment. He gained invaluable experience in inspecting, assessing and reporting on vessel structure and the condition of machinery. Ronald is experienced in performing technical assessments, quality assurance inspections and surveys to ensure vessel integrity and compliance with international maritime standards.
Ronald joined BMT in August 2025, further strengthening the business’ ability to deliver specialised services focusing on Hull & Machinery (H&M) claims and casualty investigations. He continues to apply his technical expertise and practical experience on behalf of BMT in the maritime industry.
