Koen Schouten is a Maritime Consultant with BMT and a qualified Chief Engineer, holding an unlimited Certificate of Competency. With 13 years of seagoing experience, as marine engineer up to the rank of Chief Engineer, he has developed extensive technical expertise across a diverse range of offshore and marine vessels including tugboats, anchor handling and supply vessels, dive support vessels and construction support vessels.

Since joining BMT in 2018, Koen has specialised in technical marine surveys and damage assessments, supporting clients with investigations into machinery failures, propulsion issues and other complex engineering related incidents. His practical experience at sea, combined with his in-depth technical knowledge, enables him to deliver clear, reliable assessments and solutions.

Based in Antwerp, Koen supports a broad range of clients with independent technical assessments and expert advice.
