We supported SeaBot Maritime in delivering its first ROC Supervisor course, using ROC-Sim to provide realistic, high-fidelity training that prepares operators to safely supervise complex autonomous maritime missions.
As autonomous maritime operations continue to grow in scale and complexity, SeaBot Maritime needed a training environment that would prepare Remote Operations Centre (ROC) Supervisors for real-world mission management.
The requirement was to move beyond software familiarisation and equip delegates with the practical skills to supervise multiple uncrewed vessels, manage operational risk, maintain situational awareness and make informed decisions in dynamic conditions.
We partnered with SeaBot Maritime and Marine AI to deliver the ROC Supervisor – Mission Management course using its ROC-Sim facility.
By integrating Marine AI's GuardianAI Command & Control system with our BMT REMBRANDT simulation technology, delegates trained in a shared, high-fidelity environment that accurately reflected the complexity of autonomous maritime operations.
The immersive programme developed the leadership, decision-making and risk management skills essential for effective mission supervision.
The programme successfully trained its first cohort, including delegates from Compass Survey Limited and the Nigerian Navy, demonstrating the value of realistic, team-based simulation for autonomous operations.
Participants gained the confidence and competence to supervise complex missions safely, recognising that effective human oversight remains critical alongside advancing AI capabilities.
The course also marked the first commercial deployment of our ROC-Sim capability, showcasing how advanced simulation can accelerate operational readiness, improve safety and support the successful adoption of autonomous maritime systems across both commercial and defence sectors.
