The Role

The Combat and System Engineering Manager will lead a team of dedicated professionals providing systems engineering advice and support to a range of defense, government and commercial clients.  This will require a comprehensive understanding of the practical application of systems engineering principles, practices and standards to all stages of a system lifecycle, particularly within the context of military acquisition and support. 

As BMT’s core market remains the maritime domain, relevant experience in weapons, sensors, combat management or communications systems would be an advantage. However, this is a Systems Engineering position; candidates with relevant experience in other sectors are encouraged to apply.

The Combat and Systems Engineering Manager will be the responsible for managing the shape and size of the C&S team which includes specialists in naval combat systems, cybersecurity, requirements engineering, and other systems engineering disciplines. 

As a key member of the engineering delivery team, they will be the Systems Engineering Technical Authority within BMT Canada DES business area and responsible for the quality of work conducted within their discipline. In addition, the Combat and Systems Engineering Manager will apply their specialist technical knowledge to work with the company’s other Engineering Managers to deliver effective, integrated solutions and contribute to broader client objectives.
