A Senior Pipeline Engineer will work as a member of the Asset Performance Services (APS) technical and management team and have the following responsibilities:
- Execute and lead technical projects
- Providing guidance / mentoring to junior staff
- Write and contribute to project reports
- Manage and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously
- Be a lead technical resource for pipeline and/or pressure vessels and piping design and integrity assessment considering pressure, geotechnical and thermal loading
- Be experienced in managing capable technical projects in an engineering consulting environment
- Identify opportunities for technology improvements
Basic Qualifications
- Experience within the North American Energy Pipeline and Plant Service sector
- 10 years or more of related experience
- Post-Graduate degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical or Civil Engineering
- In depth knowledge of engineering applied to the energy sector
- Experience working in a consulting environment and completing client meetings and business promotion/sales
- Proven engineering skills and hold a valid Professional Engineering licence
- A track record for the solution of energy sector (pipe and/or plant) engineering design and/or assessment tasks
- In depth subject matter expertise related to one or more of fitness for service assessment (i.e. cracking, corrosion, weld fault, geohazard, hydrotechnical hazard assessment), materials, welding, forensic investigation
- Expertise in executing and directing numerical modelling
- Strong demonstrated technical report writing
- Track record for good verbal and written communication skills
Desirable Experience / Qualifications
- Experience working with industry standards CSA Z662, API 579, API 1104, BS 7910, ASME PVC, ASME B31 series
- Client facing experience and excellent presentation skills
- Proven ability working in a small team environment
- Proficiency in ABAQUS, ANSYS, LS DYNA, Fluent, Caesar II, AutoPIPE, Matlab
- Knowledge IMP (Integrity Management Program Development)
- Knowledge of in line inspection tools, reporting and program development
- Knowledge of geotechnical and hydrotechnical hazard assessment and mitigation
