In response to growing demand and BMT's ambition for growth, we have a need for a Simulation & Software Engineer who will join our Defence & Security team and help BMT provide in-house design support for one of our large-scale projects.
The role will see you deliver on the following responsibilities:
Conduct Discrete Event Simulation (DES) modelling and simulation analysis using modelling software such as FlexSim
Use relevant computer programming languages (C++, C#, VBA, Java) to model a range of different scenarios and variables in simulated environments
Develop and maintain proficiency in relevant modelling tools and software programs for DES and data science, spreadsheet-based, and other numeric modelling
Develop simulations with a graphical user interface (GUI) and 3d models, to facilitate usage by clients and visualise the performance of the solution
Solve complex mathematical problems and apply knowledge of software engineering, robotics, computer science & simulation
Analyse client requirements to understand the environment and physical components and provide technical solutions to specific cost and timescale
BMT's ideal candidate will have:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in computer science, software engineering, robotic engineering, mechatronics engineering, or equivalent
Experience in professional software engineering practices and software development lifecycle, including source control management, and use of Agile software development and testing practices
Experience in DevOps with continuous integration and continuous deployment
Proficiency in web development, including the use of HTML, SQL, PHP languages, and the integration with back-end services
Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain or already holding a baseline security clearance along with a valid Australian driver’s licence;
Demonstrable commitment to HSE in the workplace;
Exceptional organisational and communication skills (both written and oral)
