BMT's Maritime Defence & Security team is growing and we are looking for Expressions of Interest from Maritime Engineering professionals to join our team in Perth and Melbourne to support our Maritime Sustainment programs in 2026 and beyond. Previous RAN surface vessel experience and Japanese language skills are highly advantageous.
Your work at BMT will have a direct impact on national defence and security. You will be an essential part of the intricate system that safeguards our country and ensures the safety of our maritime assets.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will deliver innovative, safe, and sustainable solutions for maritime sustainment. We have opportunities for seasoned defence professionals in various engineering disciplines, including but not limited to:
- Maritime Engineering Leadership & Management
- Technical Risk & Compliance
- System Safety, Certification and Verification

About you
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Proven experience as a defence engineering professional, ideally within the maritime sector.
- A strong background in one of the engineering disciplines listed above.
- The ability to contribute to delivering innovative, safe, and sustainable solutions.
- The ability to hold and maintain an active Australian Baseline Defence Security Clearance or above.
- Proficiency in Japanese language is highly valued.
