Join BMT as an Environmental Modeller in Perth and help shape the future of sustainable marine and coastal development. We're expanding our team and looking for environmental scientists with a keen interest in modelling, particularly in water quality and nutrient dynamics. You'll work on high-impact projects across Western Australia and collaborate with international partners on projects in Scotland and Canada, applying cutting-edge science to real-world challenges.
About you
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or other relevant area of study
- Minimum 3 years’ experience post-graduation
- Proficiency in the use of numerical modelling, relevant software packages and programming languages used in the analysis, data processing, and interpretation of complex environmental projects. (e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper, Fortran, MATLAB, Python, TUFLOW).
- Ability to apply relevant Australian and international environmental compliance standards, codes and guidelines to sustainable development projects from inland waters to coastal and offshore environments.
- Experience in the design and delivery of environmental modelling, metocean monitoring, and coastal management projects.
- Clear and effective communication skills, with flexibility in format and delivery (e.g. written, visual, verbal)
- Awareness of commercial considerations and ability to contribute to project planning, delivery and contract administration
