What is PULSETerraMetrix RS?

The PULSETerraMetrix System for Rope Shovels provides payload, machine health, and production management solutions to optimize shovel productivity and provide mine personnel with the insights needed to maximize operator effectiveness and increase productivity while lowering costs. The system focuses on pass load accuracy in order to empower operator-based strategic loading decisions.

Operations using PULSETerraMetrix benefit from payload improvements of as much as 15%. They also have the benefit of limiting overloads. This results in safer truck operation and less wear on truck frames, brakes, and tires.

PTMRS comes standard with DataCenter. Datacenter serves as the central, online location to monitor current shovel status and historical production data. In addition the RS system offers customizable SSRS reporting.

Approach

The PULSETerraMetrix RS system was built with the goal of being the most accurate payload monitoring system on the market. In order to do this the system deploys loadcell technology to directly measure the material in the dipper. Inertial compensation is used so that operators get an accurate estimate of dipper payload while they are swinging towards the truck. This allows them the opportunity to take action before the truck leaves for the dump.

Add-on: PULSE TerraMetrix Vision

The team at PULSETerraMetrix have developed two Vision systems. The standard system uses a basic lidar head mounted on the shovel to provide operators with a profile view of the bank so that they can see the actual excavated material versus the mine design. This gives operators the information to dig to design everytime

Vision+ is the more advanced system. This provides similar functionality for the operator, but also saves the lidar data so that mine staff can examine material volumes, and visualize the shovel in 3D in real-time.
