About us

The PULSETerraMetrix product range has developed over the last 15 years between our teams in Denver and Vancouver.

Our Denver team focused on developing a health monitoring system for draglines in order to help address fatigue damage to the dragline boom. It has since become an extensive product which now includes payload monitoring as well as production statistics. Operators of these machines can reduce the fatigue damage to the dragline boom and improve production approximately 10% by using the PULSETerraMetrix DL system and the data to better train the operators. Initially the dragline system was named PULSE to reflect the health monitoring aspects of the system.

Our Vancouver team, working primarily in Canada where there is a small population of draglines, focused predominantly on payload management for mining shovels. By providing feedback on payload measurement to the machine operator, productivity benefits of between up to 15% can be achieved because under and over loaded trucks are avoided. The system was initially called TerraMetrix for “measurement of earth".

The two product brands were combined to PULSETerraMetrix DL (for draglines) and PULSETerraMetrix RS (for rope shovels).

Team

BMT employs a group of highly skilled programmers and engineers to develop and support the PULSETerraMetrix system. The multidisciplinary team includes hardware, software, and system engineers. This allows for the innovative development of components that are mission specific, creatively providing solutions that surpass off-the-shelf technologies. Our in depth understanding of structural dynamics and advanced fatigue life assessment related to forensic analysis of mining machinery adds a unique perspective to our product offering.

BMT

With over 40 years of experience, BMT has built a strong global presence working with mining companies that acquire and operate a diverse range of mining and mineral processing machinery. BMT has offices across Australia and in strategic North American locations: Denver, USA and Vancouver, Canada.
