South East Queensland Rainfall Mapping

South East Queensland coastal areas have received average or better than average rainfall over the last the last few years, yet water supply is dwindling.

SEQWater commissioned BMT WBM to create a series of maps of South East Queensland showing where rain had fallen over the last 5 years.

The maps graphically show the catchment areas have had little rain and therefore why the major Dams are low.

BMT WBM collated rainfall data from the Bureau of Meteorology and then created attributed grids that showed a continuous surface of the South East Queensland rainfall that allowed further analysis of the data.
