The East Gippsland Shire Council engaged BMT WBM to co-ordinate and prepare a series of technical studies and develop the relevant environmental referrals and approval/consent applications for the redevelopment of the Bancroft Bay (Metung) Marina.
The proposed works involve the demolition of the existing facility and the construction of a new 161 berth marina in Bancroft Bay, Gippsland Lakes.
BMT WBM conducted baseline and impact assessment investigations in our core discipline areas of:
- Water quality;
- Coastal processes; and
- Coastal planning issues.
Specialist sub-consultants were engaged to assist the team in addressing cultural heritage requirements (including developing a Cultural Heritage Assessment).
The results of these studies were used to support a range of environmental approval applications, including a planning permit and Coastal Management Act 1995 consent.
BMT WBM also developed the necessary Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans to ensure the project satisfied the regulatory performance requirements.
