World class flood modelling software TUFLOW sets the industry standard high and has reshaped the global landscape of flood and hydraulic modelling.
BMT has been shortlisted for the 2020 Australian Financial Review (AFR) BOSS Most Innovative Companies List for the industry-leading flood simulation software, TUFLOW. TUFLOW’s 2020 release allows its users to build flood simulations quickly, accurately, and autonomously. Simulations enable a better understanding of flood risk to assist government and emergency services to manage flood prone areas, climate change uncertainties and reduce the risk to life.
“The high resolution, physically accurate software product we released in 2020 - TUFLOW - overcomes key hurdles within the industry, and provides engineers, planners and emergency services with a world-leading tool to better manage flood risks and save lives that would otherwise be impacted by flood events,” Bill Syme, TUFLOW lead.
“TUFLOW’s latest innovation offers users speed increases of up to 400 times, whilst producing more accurate flood predictions, thereby reshaping the global landscape of flood and hydraulic modelling and planning for an unknowable future,” Bill said.
“TUFLOW can also lead to greater sustainment of native biodiversity and associated ecosystem services” he said.
“We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for these awards, it is truly exciting that our TUFLOW 2020 release has been shortlisted,” Peter Behrendt, Group Director Strategy and Innovation.
“The development and delivery of TUFLOW 2020 is a direct result of planned innovation processes that operate globally across BMT. The key focus of these processes is always to solve our customers’ most challenging problems with innovative solutions – that’s just what we do at BMT,” Peter said.
This award recognises the most innovative organisations from across industries in Australia and New Zealand. Winners will be notified by The Australian Financial Review’s BOSS Magazine on Sunday, 9 August 2020.Discover TUFLOW 2020
