UK’s Department for Transport Selects BMT for STAR Framework
BMT Hi-Q Sigma Ltd (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group, has announced that it has been appointed as a supplier under the UK Department for Transport’s (DfT) Specialist Technical Advice for Rail (STAR) Framework, which aims to support the DfT’s significant programme e.g. rail franchises, projects, schemes and major works.
BMT has been recognised as a key supplier under two categories - Rail Operations and Performance Advice as well as Project and Programme Management and will utilise specialist expertise from sister company BMT Isis and leaders in the provision of performance management strategies, VA Rail, in delivering services. BMT has been awarded an initial term of two years with the option to extend for a further two years in 12 month increments.
The STAR Framework will support the DfT’s aims, enabling access to technical and commercial resources with specialist experience and professional expertise. A key objective of the Framework is to develop depth and breadth in capability within its supply chain.
Simon Gould, Managing Director at BMT Hi-Q Sigma comments: “This is a huge achievement for BMT Hi-Q Sigma and supports our ambition to further strengthen our growing client base in the transport market. The categories we have been awarded will enable us to deliver our core services and those of the companies in our team, BMT Isis and VA Rail, to the benefit of all the Rail Executive’s stakeholders.”
