Yrjo Migchelsen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nautical and Marine Engineering studies. He has 12 years seagoing experience on various types of vessels up to the rank of 1st Engineer. He has sailed as 1st Engineer for 6 years, followed by a career ashore as technical manager with a rolling equipment company.

Adding Fire Investigation to his portfolio in 2012 came as a logical step for Yrjo, based on his experience and knowledge. Since 2012 Yrjo has investigated fires of all different natures, from industrial, civil or marine operations, including a number of high-profile cases. He is a certified Fire Investigator under IAAI (IAAI-FIT) and instructor at the Dutch Fire Academy (IFV).
