Communications Project Co-ordinator

The purpose of this role is to plan and manage a joined up approach to communications across the group internally and externally in support of BMT's strategic goals.

BMT is going through an exciting transformation process to secure its future and prepare for ambitious growth.  This demands a well planned approach to communicating with staff and other important stakeholders.

Reporting to the Group Head of Stakeholder Engagement (GHSE), the Communications Project Co-ordinator will be at the heart of this transformation.

The Role

The Role holder will be responsible for:

  • Producing and maintaining a group-wide communications plan
  • Monitoring the implementation of the plan and evaluating the effectiveness of communication activities
  • Developing and implementing communication campaigns
  • Developing channels for internal and external communication
  • Content development
  • Co-ordinating the activities of a network of communications champions across the business  
  • Management of communications projects
  • Providing planning and operational support to the GHSE

This role may take on line management responsibilities as required to deliver the  communications work plan. 

The Individual


The successful candidate will have:

  • Good planning and project management skills
  • Good oral and written communication with the ability to develop content for different audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Experience of social media in corporate communications (desirable)
  • Experience of running internal communications campaigns (desirable)

In addition, the role holder will be a team player but also be able to work on own initiative.
