CAD Engineer (Kuala Lumpur)
The Wind Engineering Team in BMT Fluid Mechanics specializes in engineering consultancy services based on small-scale boundary layer wind tunnel modelling. The team is highly client-focused and prides itself on delivering technical quality on landmark projects to tight timescales and to a high degree of customer satisfaction. In the civil structures industry we work with a worldwide client base of internationally leading consultants and designers of large structures including stadia, tall buildings and long span bridges.
In the Oil &Gas industry we support designers in the assessment of wind loads and stability for large and complex offshore structures such as FPSOs and FLNGs
The role of the CAD engineer carries the following main responsibilities:
Client & BMT project liaison to ensure drawing information flow as required
- Generation of 3D CAD models for the purpose of computer aided (CNC / rapid prototyping) manufacture of wind tunnel models & 3D data presentation
The preferred candidates will have the following qualifications, skills and competencies:
A degree in Industrial and Product design or CAD-CAM Mechanical Drafter
Proficiency in the use of industry standard CAD packages and or CAD/ CAM (specifically Rhino 3D, and AUTOCAD as a minimum)
Experience in Solid Modelling is considered a distinct advantage
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawing information
Good problem solving ability
High degree of IT literacy
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong team player
Ability to work with commitment and accuracy under pressure with a high degree of self-motivation
Good multi-tasking ability and time management skills
