What are we looking for?
We are currently looking to grow our Asset Performance Services business line and are looking for candidates with experience in, or an appreciation of, one or more of the following technical areas:
Mechanical and Electrical Systems Engineering;
Computerised Maintenance Management Systems;
Technical Publications (SOP’s, Maintenance Manuals, Safety Logs and Standards);
UK MOD Safety Policies and Procedures (HSWA 1974);
Personal Development of individuals (Line Manager and Technical Delivery).Systems Engineering experience across Maritime Weapon and Marine Systems
Experience of maintaining and upkeep of Weapon and Marine Systems
Planning and performance of maintenance routines
Conducting inspections and trials of Weapon and Marine Systems with the ability to provide comprehensive technical reports
Experience Team Manager
Submarine SQEP /NSQEP is not essential but would be beneficial
What is the role?
BMT are looking to recruit and develop individuals with the core skills identified above to fulfil the roles detailed below.
Supportability Engineer / Modelling Consultant – this role will support the company’s Integrated Logistic Support Projects by providing engineering expertise in the areas of:
Product Reliability and Maintainability
Supportability Engineering (Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Reliability Centred Maintenance, Level of Repair Analysis and Maintenance Task Analysis)
Training Needs Analysis
Availability Modelling and Cost Engineering Modelling
Support to the development of Technical Publications
Obsolescence Consultant – this role will conduct obsolescence management planning and assessments on Air, Land and Maritime Systems and Equipment that meet the needs and requirements of clients, including:
Obsolescence Management Strategy and Planning
Resolution and Mitigation activity
Maintaining Obsolescence Register
Working with the design and in-service support teams to ensure obsolescence issues are understood in terms of risk, cost and impact.
Safety Engineering/Consultant – apply hazard management techniques to develop safety reports and the product safety case across the maritime, land and air domains. The role will comprise the following key elements:
Support the delivery of safety projects to schedule and budget whilst meeting client and corporate expectations
To be a successful consultant within our business, the following attributes will be critical to be successful in these roles:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Service and results orientated, with strong business ethics
Good organisation skills with high flexibility and mobility (the candidate will be expected to work alone at clients sites, and to also travelto different UK sites in the course of their work.Some overseas travel may be required.
Self-starter and decision maker, with analytical thinking skills
Ability to work in teams
