The Role

Who are we?            

BMT is an independent design and consulting engineering company with a significant presence in defence and security sectors both in the UK and worldwide. We pride ourselves on being able to tackle the most complex design and multi-disciplinary systems issues. Our services are employed by government and private sector clients to tackle the most intricate design, system and enterprise level challenges in cyber security, intelligent systems, naval design, technical authoring and asset management, including the development of standards, policy and regulation as well as decision support for programme, project and digital transformation programmes.

This role is to join our first class Technical Information & Documentation Services (TIDS) team in our Weymouth office. BMT provides a unique mixture of technical expertise and a technical authoring capability to seamlessly review, understand, update and author our customer’s technical documentation. Examples include; operator and maintainer manuals, illustrated parts catalogues (IPCS), hardcopy and electronic formats and comprehensive printing and specialist media capability.

What is the role?

We are excited to be able to offer an opportunity for a 6 week summer placement to a student in full-time education between the ages of 16-18, who is interested in joining our TIDS team within our Asset Performance Services business line. The placement is designed to provide real responsibility and exposure to a professional working environment in an engineering industry with the opportunity to work on a live project. You can expect to receive guidance and training from our experienced employees who will equip you with knowledge, skills and experience to complement your studies and future career.
