What is the role?
As an integral member of the Technical Information and Documentation Services team you will be required to:
Lead for establishing a new team of Technical Authors, Illustrators and Content Managers.
Contribute to TIDS Strategy.
Generation of new business.
Support client engagement and liaison with customers.
Undertake technical document update, revalidation, and format to specific assigned documentation.
Generate a comprehensive and cohesive set of update requirements for sponsor approval.
Attend meetings as necessary to facilitate update of assigned documentation.
Adhere to and apply relevant policy, procedural and quality requirements.
Identify where processes and update strategy may be improved.
Provide timely notification to the Project Manager of any potential problems, and proposed solutions.
Support other Technical Documentation update activities.
What are we looking for?
Previous experience of managing a TD team.
Previous experience of TD sales and marketing.
Knowledge of Technical Authoring.
Knowledge and experience of UK MoD Defence Documentation such as Book of Reference and Illustrated Parts Catalogues.
Knowledge and experience of UK MoD Defence Documentation Standards.
The ability to review Defence Documentation for technical and other discrepancies.
Familiarity with applications such as Framemaker, Arbortext, trilogi, MS Word and Excel and Content Management systems.
Familiarity with electronic publication formats such as ASD S1000D, DITA and other XML structured formats.
Knowledge of IETMs, CSDBs and DMRLs.
Ability to relate to others and work as part of a team.
