The PS Consultant is responsible to support our clients in the execution and oversight of their task needs. This will include applying specialist skills in project and program management, as well as business analysis and logical thinking.
In addition to specialty work , the Senior Program Services Consultant is responsible to provide consultant services to clients as may be required to execute consultancy contracts within the scope of BMT Canada’s market area, within the realm of their skills, background and experience.
Responsibilities and Tasks
The preferred candidate will be able to:
Demonstrate their ability to lead program support activities, as elaborate upon experiences helping clients work through complex program issues;
Demonstrate their ability to formulate plans and strategies, articulate them to others, and help others work through the details toward implementation;
Take the initiative to implement the direction, strategy, and policies of the business;
Roll up their sleeves to get things moving;
Maintain the highest standards of integrity and accountability; and
Work within client environments.
The successful candidate will have experience with:
Working within large complex projects, involving multiple stakeholders, shifting priorities, and significant budgets;
Process improvement initiatives, either for a standardized certification body such as CMMI, or an internal process initiative involving changing the manner of work to achieve a new management objective ;
Government agencies such as Health Canada or the Department of National Defence.
Managing projects, programs, accounts or clients; and
Exposure to Canadian procurement practices and activities such as requests for proposals, vendor selections, or treasury board submissions.

Employment Conditions
Full time, permanent or Term
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia ; Kanata, Ontario ; or Victoria, BC, to be defined in employment contract .
Occasional Travel to other BMT offices or client sites as required from time to .
Key Knowledge, Experience and Skills
Essential:
Degree or Diploma from a recognized institution.
Specialty knowledge in an area related to the role responsibilities and tasks.
Ability to manage and lead peers without direct authority.
Ability to influence and earn the respect of client contacts .
Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to obtain a Canadian Security Clearance.
Ability to qualify under one of the Engineering Logistics Management Services contract categories.
Desirable:
Evidence of continued education or certifications.
Experience supporting projects which deliver to a federal government client.
