Job Description

BMT Fleet Technology is recruiting an Engineering Manager. Based in Ottawa, this full-time position will be responsible for all engineering activities, including concept and detailed design, the development of technical specifications and technical investigations. The position will supervise and mentor engineers.

The Role

Based in Ottawa , this full-time position will be responsible for all engineering
activities, including concept and detailed design, the development of technical
specifications and technical investigations.  The position will supervise and mentor engineers.

The Individual

Successful candidates will have a combination of the following:

• A university degree in electrical, mechanical or marine systems engineering, or a provincial, state or federal (national) licence to practice as a professional engineer;
• 10 - 15 years of related experience;
• Advanced experience in leading engineering design teams;
• Experience in the development of engineering changes;
• Extensive experience in Submarine systems;
• Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards  and their impact on design;
• The ability to lead and direct technical mpact assessments;
• Demonstrated ability to lead and direct feasibility studies;
• Demonstrated success in managing projects;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• The ability to plan and organize;
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
