Continued Professional Development

Within BMT, around 80% of the staff are graduates and many also possess post-graduate qualifications. We actively encourage Continued Professional Development (CPD) for each member of staff to gain additional qualifications in MBA, PhD, MSc, IT training etc. Royal Institute of Naval Architects and Institution of Mechanical Engineers accreditation courses exist to enable graduates to achieve professional chartered status and some of our companies have also achieved Investors in People accreditation.

BMT's policy is to train and develop its staff whenever possible to meet future needs and to encourage staff to reach their full potential. The success and wealth of any company is dependent upon its staff. It is BMT's policy to assist its staff in their professional development with the opportunities to work on challenging, leading-edge projects, supported by continuing training and provision for staff to pursue professional qualifications.

The BMT head office has a dedicated, HR, Development and Training department who actively search for new training and development courses, workshops and professional accreditations that are relevant to BMT companies and staff. They are also responsible for organising a number of internal training courses and programmes.
